Description

Located on the North Wabasca Lake outside the community of Wabasca-Desmarais in Northern Alberta. Once you reach the 4way stop that connects Highway 754 which comes from Slave Lake and Highway 813 leading from Athabasca you go north onto Mistassiniy Road. Follow until you reach the 3way stop and turn north again onto Lakeview Drive and follow as it transitions into a gravel road driving a total of 13kms from the 3way.

Amenities

  • Aspen Loop which is located on the hill
    • 20 power sites
    • Fire pit and picnic table at each site
    • No Lake access
    • Outhouses located close by and cleaned daily
    • Firewood is available, as yet we are unsure how it will be distributed this year or if we will be charging a fee
    • The location is covered in Aspen trees and is a Fire Smart area
      • The undergrowth is removed regularly
      • The tall unstable trees are marked in the spring for removal in the fall
      • Please note what trees are around your site during high winds
    • No security so please lock your doors and move valuables out of sight
    • These sites are first come, first serve
    • $20 per site, please pay at one of the Self Pay Boxes.
      • Boxes emptied daily and compared to campers on site.
  • Spruce Loop which is located at the bottom of the hill at the end of the road
    • 15 non-power sites
    • Fire pit and picnic table at each site
    • Lake access and views
    • Outhouses located close by and cleaned daily
    • Firewood available, as yet we are unsure how it will be distributed this year or if we will be charging a fee
    • This location is covered in Spruce trees and is a Fire Smart area

    • Sandy beach that is clean and maintained
    • Located along the lake with parking at each end
    • Outhouses located at each end in the parking lots and cleaned daily
    • Beach is unsupervised so please use at your own risk

    • No security so please lock your doors and move valuables out of sight
  • Public Picnic Area
    • Located above the beach along a pathway
    • Fire pits and picnic tables at various locations on the path
    • Outhouses located in parking areas
    • Day use only area
    • No security so please lock your doors and move valuables out of sight
  • Boat Launch located at the back of the Aspen Loop
    • Parking for your truck and trailer
    • Day use only area
    • Fish Cleaning station located in this area
    • No security so please lock your doors and move valuables out of sight
  • Large Group Camp Area
    • 8 power heads located around the space
    • Large open space that 8-16 campers plus vehicles can fit into
    • Private Outhouse located in the space cleaned daily when space is being used
    • No Beach access
    • Call for reservations
    • $125 per night
      • Arrangements will be made for payment and access to the site when you call at arrival.
  • Small Group Camp Area
    • 6 power heads located around the space
    • Open area that can fit 4-6 campers plus vehicles
    • Outhouse located near by
    • Easy access to the beach and swimming area
